Alice Swan
Great grandma Alice was born Dora Alice Swan on May 17, 1890 in Bidwell Bar, Butte County, California. In 1900, she was with her mother Emma, sister Arnetta, and brother Henry in San Francisco. In 1905, she married Thomas Day in Quincy, Plumas County, and in 1910 was living with her husband Thomas and son Alvin on Mountain House Road in Bidwell. In 1920 she was back in Oakland, in a rooming house on Jefferson Street with her sons Clifford and Tim. In 1920 she married Arthur Hartmann, and in 1936, she married John Van Horn. In 1940, she and John were in Indian, Plumas, after a stay in Nevada. She passed away July 24, 1980 in Chico, Butte County, and is buried with her son Alvin in Monument Hill Memorial Park in Woodland, Yolo County.
