First graders in Ceres in 1925. I’m assuming Aunt Irene was their teacher.

Aunt Irene attended the San Jose State Teachers’ College. The photos are from 1920-1922.

That might be Aunt Irene in the glasses in the first photo, and in the fourth photo looking askance at the girls lasciviously baring their knees. I can’t identify the others, including ‘Cutie’.

The missing photo lists an address, 756 South Third, which in San Jose today is a lovely home, built in 1900. Maybe Aunt Irene taught Kindergarten here?

Aunt Irene must have taught at the Paicines School in 1922-23. Paicines is south of San Jose in San Benito County. It seems to have 2 or 3 schools these days.

It looks like Aunt Irene is teaching in Ceres, and these are her fellow school teachers. That’s Aunt Irene in the first photo, with Mrs. Baldridge.

1924. In what likely was part of the trip on the previous page that took in Sutter’s Fort, here we have a couple of photos of the Capitol in Sacramento, and four of the Chico State Teachers’ College. I’m not sure of the significance of visiting the teachers’ college, since she already had her degree from San Jose, I assume, since she’s started teaching.

My Aunt Irene was a teacher. This is her class in Ceres in 1925-6.
