The caption in the photo album says ‘Peter’, and the year the photo album was initially compiled was 1923, according to the frontal page. We called Aunt Irene’s husband ‘Uncle Pete’, but that was only because we couldn’t pronounce his name, which was ‘Cletus’. The person in the photo looks a lot like Cletus, but as ‘Peter’ he appears in other photos in the albums. I’m not sure who he is. Aunt Irene’s boyfriend before she married Cletus (which I think was around 1925)?

Alice in 1924, maybe a friend of Aunt Irene’s? And an unidentified fellow from 1925.

Edith, maybe a friend of Aunt Irene’s, had a wedding shower in 1918.

Aunt Irene in the eighth grade in 1914. Florence and F.M. must be friends of hers.
LudwigIrene-Album1-TheEarlyYears-16
1919. Aunt Irene, Aunt Irene with a female friend and two male friends, one in uniform (I can’t identify them); and Aunt Irene with the fellow in the uniform.

Aunt Irene is in the photo labelled 1917; I can’t identify any of the others.

A Sunday Hike, year unknown. I can’t identify the people in the photos.

Four photos of Eugene Farr. On the next page, that might be him with Aunt Irene, holding hands, so maybe a boyfriend?
LudwigIrene-Album1-TheEarlyYears-29
The middle photo might be Aunt Irene, and the fellow might be Eugene Farr from the previous page.
LudwigIrene-Album1-TheEarlyYears-30
Inez and Eugene, might be Eugene Farr, so maybe Inez is his girlfriend, not Aunt Irene? It looks like Aunt Irene on the horse, the headband says, “12th Annual League Instruct…”. I can’t identify the person in the third photo.

Friends went on a picnic to Congress Springs, in Saratoga, California. Aunt Irene is in both, in the arms of a fellow who looks like her husband-to-be Cletus Burns, but also like the fellow named ‘Peter’ on the first page of the album.

1922. More photos from the picnic at Congress Springs, Saratoga. Aunt Irene is definitely in the one labelled ‘Lunch’

Friends Raymond and Alice in 1922.

Aunt Irene, Cletus Burns, and friends relaxing in the sun. In the second photo, Darryl and Grandma (Marjorie Ludwig) Clifford

1924. I don’t think the bathing beauty is Aunt Irene, so maybe a friend. Again we have a photo which looks like Cletus Burns but labelled ‘Peter’ (is the ‘Pader’ label related?). Denair is a town in Stanislaus county, so maybe Aunt Irene was teaching there in 1924? I’m guessing the flower garden would be at the Hughson house, since in 1924 she’s not married yet.
